shades of grey: forthcoming exhibit
Steve took a black and white photography course as a high school student, which deeply influenced him. He rediscovered monochrome photography while seeking a solution to the heat and light that pervades much of the day in Southeast Asia. The shades of grey, contrasts, and detail that come out in black and white have inspired him to continue experimenting. Much of Steve’s black and white work depicts real life on the streets of Laos, China and Cambodia. There are also quiet Buddhist themes and some landscapes. Many of the works here are the artist’s favorites, and will soon be the theme of a new exhibition in Singapore.
